Votian Day in the Estonian Literary Museum
On Thursday, December 2, the Votian Day is celebrated at the Estonian Literary Museum. The event begins at 11:00 with a symposium discussing the ethnic group, and research into Votian language and culture, by Estonian linguists, ethnologists, and folklorists. Presentations largely focus on fieldwork among the Votians, and outstanding figures among the Votians and scholars studying them. During the event the exhibition Votian Portraits. A selection of photos from fieldwork during 1998-2002 by Estonian Literary Museum. is organised. The day concludes with a selection of documentaries on Votians. See programme.
