Publications

The department publishes two academic peer-reviewed journals Mäetagused (in Estonian) and Folklore: Electronic Journal of Folklore (in English), which has helped to widen the audience of folkloristics and captured people's interest.

Other series published by the department include the peer-reviewed series Sator. Articles on Folk Religion and Customs and Reetor (series on paremiology), and Contemporary Folklore.

Electronic publications, featuring mainly academic work, but also multilingual academic editions and anthologies, reference materials and systematisations, and also popular editions of original material, all free for use for educational and cultural purposes.

Virtual galleries, slideshows, three video films and various videos about fieldtrips and lectures were produced along with popular booklets, folkloristic publications, research topics, etc.
